If you want to download a large file, you must have patience and stay in front of the computer to restart your download, in case something interrupts it. When it comes to large amounts of data, a download manager is more efficient. If you are looking for such a program, Net Transport is an excellent choice. A faster download speed and the fact that it lets you resume interrupted downloads are its main advantages, but it provides other features as well. You can use this program to download any data, in a very comfortable fashion.

Net Transport can be installed fast and easy, on any Windows version, from Win 95 to Win 7. The package includes another application, called FTP Transport, which you can use to manage your FTP servers and their contained data.

The software lets you create folders and sub-folders in a tree structure and use them to organize your downloads in different categories. You can also associate your folders with any location on the hard drive. Instead of selecting a destination path, each time you download something, you just need to select one of your folders (which is faster).

When you need to download a file, you must provide its download link, on a separate window, where you can also select one of your folders, insert your login credentials, if you need to, set a number of threads and more. You can also bring up a tabbed settings window, to schedule your new task, select a proxy, a bandwidth and make other adjustments. While the software is running, you will find a small window on your screen, called a drop zone, which makes it easier to add a file to your downloads list. Instead of working with two windows, to copy and paste the file's download link, you can just drag and drop the link over this window.

You may add various types of proxies on the same interface, but on a different tab. Other tabs include options for exploring a web site, just like on a standard explorer window, or activating an RUL sniffer, which captures MMS, RTSP protocol headers and various types of files. You should know that Net Transport supports most POP Internet protocols. HTTP or HTTPS, FTP, MMS. BitTorrent and eMule are just a few examples.

Pros

Net Transport lets you organize your downloads in separate folders, which you can link with any location on the hard drive. You can start downloading immediately or schedule the software to download your files at a precise date and time. Its drop zone enables you to add files to your downloads queue, just by clicking and dragging its download link.

Cons

There are no serious disadvantages to mention. Besides a fast download speed, Net Transport offers numerous features for managing your downloads in a simple and efficient manner.
